"The Ides of March" Premieres at the BFI London Film Festival

It’s one of the most anticipated films of the season, and earlier tonight (October 19) “The Ides of March” held its UK premiere in London, England.

And of course, stars George Clooney, Evan Rachel Wood and Philip Seymour Hoffman were all in the house to partake in the BFI Film Festival fanfare.

During a recent interview, Ms. Wood told press she relished the chance to work opposite “Lars and the Real Girl” stud Ryan Gosling in the film.

"Sometimes it felt like a tennis match between us. I think we were trying to intimidate one another and trying to serve it up as best we could. You can't ask for a better leading man."

She added, "It was difficult to concentrate. Ryan's incredible — he's everything that you would hope. He's smart, he's cool, he's funny, he's really creative and really loves what he does."

As for how she scored the gig, Evan explained, "I got a phone call from George [Clooney] and I picked up the handset and was like ‘Who is this, really?' But it was him and we just started talking and it was like we'd known each other for years. Then he asked me to do the movie and it was a no-brainer, you know. I'd never met him before but the writing is incredible, the acting is really amazing."
